Poker night

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to host a smooth poker tournament.

How many players do I need?
Anywhere from 4 to 10 works great on a single table. With more than ~10 you'll split across tables, but the clock handles any field size — and the payout structure scales from 1 to 50 paid places.
How long does a tournament take?
It depends on your blind structure. The Turbo preset runs ~2–3 hours, Standard ~4–5 hours, and Deep stack 6+ hours. The clock shows an estimated finish time so you can fit it to your evening.
How do I set the blinds?
Pick a preset (Turbo / Standard / Deep stack) or build your own structure in the setup screen — set the small/big blind, ante and minutes per level, and add breaks wherever you like.
How much should the buy-in be?
Whatever suits your group — the buy-in only sets the prize pool. Set it in the setup screen and the clock calculates the pot and the payouts automatically.
How do payouts work?
Set your buy-in and choose how many places get paid (1 to 50, or Auto by field size). The clock splits the prize pool with a realistic, top-heavy structure and shows each winner's amount live.
What are rebuys and add-ons?
A rebuy lets a busted player buy back in early; an add-on is an optional extra stack everyone can buy (often at the first break). Track both in the setup screen — they feed into the prize pool and average stack.
Do I need real poker chips?
Yes, you'll want physical chips for the table. The clock recommends a starting stack, and the chip-distribution calculator works out exactly how many of each chip each player needs.
Can I run the clock on a TV?
Absolutely — that's what it's built for. Open it on a laptop, hit fullscreen and cast it to the TV. The numbers are huge and readable across the room, and the screen stays awake during play.
