Common questions

Who won WSOP Player of the Year in 2025?

Shaun Deeb. The second two-time winner, after Negreanu.

Who has won WSOP Player of the Year the most?

Daniel Negreanu (2004 and 2013) and Shaun Deeb (2018 and 2025) — the only players to win it twice.

How is WSOP Player of the Year decided?

On points. Every cash at the World Series earns points on a formula that weighs the buy-in, the size of the field and the finishing place, and the player with the most points across the year's WSOP events wins. The formula has changed several times since 2004, Before 2020 the race also counted WSOP Europe and WSOP Asia-Pacific; from 2022 to 2025 it ended with the Las Vegas series; in 2026 it counts live events across three festivals and ends at WSOP Paradise in December.

Was there a WSOP Player of the Year in 2020?

No. The live World Series was cancelled during the pandemic and the award wasn't given.

Who is the 2026 WSOP Player of the Year?

Not decided yet — the 2026 race runs until the end of WSOP Paradise in December 2026. This page will be updated when it is.
